Re: BYU 17 UCLA 16: Postgame Interviews
I'm just curoius, Austin: Which situation did the Lord put you into? Was it the Lord that allowed the Bruins to march 87 yards in the final 2 minutes? Was it God who held you to 0 points in the second half? It makes me curious what LSU, Ohio State, and the 14 other teams ranked ahead of BYU are doing "on and off the field" to make God bless them so much more.
Oh, I forgot, you think that you CAN play with the #1 or #2 team in the country... Isn't that over-estimating just a little bit, the value of a 1-point win over an unranked team that finished #5 in the Pac-10, who was playing with it's 4th-string QB? That's some big talk for a team who chose to schedule a I-AA school instead of a ranked opponent when it had a chance.
What you don't get about your schedule vs a Pac 10 schedule: This UCLA team would have been one of the WORST you played all year, not the best! Your schedule would have consisted of 4-5 teams all of UCLA-caliber and 4-5 teams that were far better than UCLA! If the difference between BYU and UCLA was a fingertip you would have likely ended up right where UCLA was in the Pac 10 standings: 4 losses at the least. Add to that your 2 non-conference losses and BYU would've struggled to even be bowl-eligble.
#1 or #2 in the country? HA!
