Celts beat Jazz 104-98
Jazz play well but can't push past Boston
Hear Scott Garrard and Coach Tom Nissalke break down Utah's 104-98 loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. Energy Solutions Arena saw the Jazz play well, but turnovers late kept the Jazz from turning in a win. The Jazz fall to 16-16 on the year, but will look to get back above .500 when they play Portland in The Energy Solutions Arena Monday Night. Scott Garrard and Coach Tom Nissalke will preview the Jazz/Blazers at 5 p.m. followed by Hot Rod with the call at 6 p.m. 1320 KFAN is the home of the Jazz and Utah's sports leader.

Re: Celts beat Jazz 104-98
Just as Coach Nissalke said Ithink the Jazz willand should make another move in January, because there needs to be just a coupld more little tweaks with this roster. But nice effort by the Jazzz otnight against the Celts, but just aren't oging to get anything doen with that kind of effort, with a great game for about 40 minutes, but we really need to finish those last 8 minutes off strong, less turnovers and I really think its inexperience which isn't oging ot fix itself to win now unless we make some moves.
Heres my crazy idea!
Miami gets: Andrei Kirilenko, Mehmet Okur, and Jason Hart
Denver gets: Smush Parker
Utah gets: Shaquille O'neal and Chucky Atkins
WHY?: Miami, lets just say its time for a change there, bring in some young talent for a change.
Denver, is looking for a point guard that can defer to Allen Iverson, so Iverson can just concentrate on scoring more, and I think Parker would help them out there.
Utah, gets their interior defense in the Diesel and veteran back up point that knows that game a basketball.
Depths after trade:
Miami
1 Williams/Quinn/Hart
2 Wade/Cook
3 Davis/Wright/Jackson
4 Kirilenko/Haslem/Johnson
5 Okur/Blount/Barron/Anthony
Denver
1 Parker/Carter
2 Iverson/Smith/Diawara/Wafer
3 Anthony/Najera/Jones
4 Martin/Kleiza/Hilario
5 Camby/Hunter
Utah
1 Williams/Atkins/Price
2 Korver/Miles/Almond
3 Brewer/Harpring
4 Boozer/Millsap
5 O'neal/Collins/Fesenko
JUST AN IDEA, THE SALARIES MATCH, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Honestly I think you said it best when you said it was a crazy idea. Shaq may be the most untradeable player in the NBA with his contract. This is an awful idea for everyone.

Re: Celts beat Jazz 104-98
AK seems to be the most imminently tradeable piece. Maybe Memo.
Also, I love the Korver trade, mainly because he can fill in at 2 or 3 -- that pinch-screen play they run for Hapring and Brewer would be lethal with Korver. And Korver could make up for some of the outside shooting if we were to move Memo. Also, I've always been impressed with Korver's hustle and flow.
The main thing, though, is Memo's defense. He doesn't bring enough at the offensive end to make up for his severe defensive lapses.
What about a move like AK for Bogut? Or Memo for Bogut?
I think the Jazz need to shake up their team a little. And Booze and Williams need to take a stronger leadership role. For whatever reason, I think they're afraid of getting in people's faces. I think if you were to move Memo or AK, it'd open up a bit of a window for either Booze or Williams to step up. But if Booze is gonna' be a leader, he has to demonstrate it on the floor with improved tenacity, intensity, etc. His long (and getting longer) jumpshots wont cut it, and he has to dig in on defense. It's strange to watch how dispassionate he seems...

Re: Celts beat Jazz 104-98
LOL, thanks Locke...so what do you see the Jazz doing to get out of this slump of to make some more tweaks of this roster or do we "just be patient with what we have and ride it out"? Korver may be a good fit but I really doubt he is the answer for all the other struggles, with Jason Hart not being able to run the offense when he comes into the game and our interior defense just not cutting it!
Here are a couple ideas tell me what you all think, move Okur to the bench and have AK down on the block as the 4 and Boozer as the 5 so AK can come off the weak side and can change the direction shots or even block them instead of being outisde on his man like he is now at the 3 or do we make another trade for a 5? For our back up point I know I have heard you on the radio say bringing Dee Brown would be ludacris, but wouldn't he be better then what we have now, cause if I remember right it was him who backed up Williams all the way to the Western Conference Finals, and not Fisher cause Fisher playing 2 guard for us, so would that be an option by buying out his contract over there bring him back and offer him a long term contract and tell him he would be the back up for a couple years or do we make a trade for one that would help us so we are not digging ourselves out of a hole everytime Williams comes off the floor or at least not loosing ground and staying where we were at when Williams comes off, cause Hart holds on the to the ball way to long and always seems it to late on the shot-clock and Hart is jacking up low percentage shots.
SO MY QUESTION IS, WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING BEFORE THE TRADE DEADLINE?
