Locke - Korver's Impact on AK and D-Will
The passion of Locked on Sports is back home on 1320, K-Fan

AK has been brilliant the last 8 games since returning from his injury.   When the Jazz acquired Kyle Korver I said that the player who would benefit the most would be AK.  However, I thought the more spread floor would allow him to slash to the basket, I didn’t imagine that he would get red hot from 18 feet out.

Here is a breakdown of AK, pre Kyle Korver and with Kyle Korver

These numbers are unreal.   Obviously, it is unlikely that AK can maintain this pace, but there is some correlation between AK’s play and KK arrival.

The presence of Korver has spread the floor and allowed everyone on the team to get better shots and better looks.

AK is not the only player who is prospering with Korver’s addition.

Here is a breakdown of D-Will before Korver and with Korver.

Re: Locke - Korver's Impact on AK and D-Will
I can't believe all this Korver-mania and premature hype about 'spacing' and other intangibles. All of a sudden Korver made AK play better and the Jazz defense better by himself? Seriously, Korver has hit 33% of his 3-pointers so far. CJ Miles, Giricek, Hart, Devin Brown, Raja Bell, Russell, Benoit, Chris Morris, John Starks, Blue Edwards and many others could all easily hit a higher percentage than that and they never had the green light to jack up 5 attempts per game. I just don't see it. I guess it's reputation over results so he's a good decoy?

Sure Korver fits in well with the Jazz, Sloan loves him almost as much as Harpring, and winning 9 out of 10 was a nice little run. But how about a healthy dose of reality? The Jazz were already beating mediocre teams at home before they got Korver. Who have they beat on the road lately? The Clippers and Houston (without Yao). I'll believe Korver is the best thing to happen since SLICED BREAD after they start beating some decent teams on the road.

Re: Locke - Korver's Impact on AK and D-Will
I think the answer to the above comments is simply that Korver is a RESPECTED shooter and team have to stay with him. Opens up all sorts of floor spacing. Makes the other team actually have to guard someone on the Jazz perimeter.
