BYU's basketball team will play Arizona State as part of the first college basketball games in December at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
As part of the doubleheader, Louisville will play Minnesota. The date of the games has yet to be announced.
The stadium, home to the Arizona Cardinals, will play host to the NCAA men's West Regional next year, and local organizers hope to lure a Final Four to the site. The facility, which has a retractable dome, played host to last season's Super Bowl and college football's BCS Series championship game.
The game fits with BYU coach Dave Rose's scheduling philosophy, which includes playing at least two nationally ranked teams before Mountain West play begins. The Sun Devils, who are expected to return all five starters, were ranked for a portion of last season.
Wake Forest, which blasted BYU last season, is scheduled to play in Provo next season.
