Ric Bucher made some interesting comments about the Utah Jazz fans and what it's like being an outsider when sitting at a Utah Jazz game. These comments were made during "The Herd" which you can hear every weekday from 10-1 only on 1320 KFAN, the sports leader.
And this whole "nothing to do" idea about Utah. Is that just code for "not enough places to get loaded"?
Yeah, we all just sit around all day with nothing to do until a Jazz game starts....
People always whine about the Jazz homecourt when the jazz are winning. Kind of like back in the day when players used to suck oxygen durning games. You didnt' see that kind of crap during the lean years circa 03, did you?
But a lot of commentators seem to get bent out of shape when the jazz fans get loud and obnoxious.
But hey, if opposing players and commentators are already making excuses, so much the better.
Bless me Locke, for I have sinned.
I watched the Celtics play a home game the other night and I have to admit that the Boston home crowd and the on-air commentators are really first class. When the refs made calls against the Celtics, the fans politely nodded their heads and after the replay on the jumbo-tron, I could hear fans saying "Yeah, Garnett got him on the arm"
The fans clapped nicely when the other team scored and I didn't hear one swear word at all.
Not only that, the Boston commentators really had good things to say about the opposing team and at the end of the game, they went out of their way to compliment the refs on a well-called game.
In fact, there was one bad call against the Celtics, and the commentators said "Hey, nobody is perfect...can't fault the refs when they miss one once in a while"
All this great sportsmanship made me realize how bad the ESA is, and I am so ashamed.
I guess the jazz home crowd needs to learn something from the rest of the league or David Stern may take the team away from us!
Come on, Jazz fans. Start watching other NBA games and take lessons on sportsmanship from the rest of the league!
