Officials for Tonight's Jazz Game
1320, K-Fan - Live with the Utah Jazz
The NBA has announced the following officials for tonight's game

Steve Javie  (22nd year - 202 playoff games)
Bob Delaney  (21st year - 130 playoff games)
Tom Washington  (17th year - 67 playoff games)

The bad news is that Delaney and Sloan have a history.  In 1993 in a game against Phoenix Sloan bumped Delaney.   However, that was 15 years ago and the two have worked together often since.

The good news is Tom Washington was on the crew that called Game 7 in Houston last year.

According to one of our 1320, K-Fan Loyalists, Roy Barker ...

When Steve Javie is officiating the Jazz are 2-4

When Bob Delaney is officiating the Jazz are 4-3

When Tom Washington is officiating the Jazz are 4-1  (the one loss is Game 3 v. Houston)

Both losses to Houston in the first round were when one of these two were officiating (Delaney in Game 3, Javie in Game 5).

Other losses under Javie (@ Dallas Apr 10, @ Lakers Dec 28, @ Knicks Nov 26)

Other losses under Delaney (@ Charlotte Dec 19, @ Lakers Nov 4)

Re: Officials for Tonight's Jazz Game
No surprise here. MVP needs help, big market Lakers need help. In rides the calvary......Javie and Delaney. Forget 33 jump shots with a bad back...it will be 30+ free throws tonight for the rapist. Fish in foul trouble???? Yeah right.....Over/Under on D-Will's second foul.....about 3 minutes into the first quarter.....

Re: Officials for Tonight's Jazz Game
Jazz are screwed tonight. Javie took over game 4 vs San Antonio last year and took the game from the Jazz. Look for it to happen again tonight. Locke your theory about poor officiating will be put to the test.

Re: Officials for Tonight's Jazz Game
Why don't they just have Diane Cannon and Jack Nicholson ref the game?

Re: Officials for Tonight's Jazz Game
When the NBA wants to control the outcome of a game - they send in one of four or five officials. Javie and Delaney are both on that list. Bottom line: We're screwed!! I wish Locke could see that officials totally control the game. He's says they are good - I agree, they are very good and can control the entire outcome. Their calls can halt momentum. Their calls give the preferred team free points at the foul line. Their calls put stars for the non-preferred team on the bench. Their calls make the non-preferred team play on their heels trying to avoid further fouls. Just watch how many fouls get called on the Jazz tonight and watch how they come in bunches at the beginning of quarters so that the Lakers will be shooting free throws. Williams and/or Boozer will be on the bench within 5 minutes of the start in foul trouble. You can take that to the bank...

Re: Officials for Tonight's Jazz Game
David Stern is obviously losing his aggressiveness. He forgot to add Joey Crawford! Laker fans need to complain to the media that they're getting unfairly treated.
