College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
The Locked on Sports NCAA 2008 Simulation starts today

David Locke will simulate the Utes and Cougars 2008 Football Season live on his show with kickoffs at 3:10 pm. Tune in as Locke will include scoring summaries, box stores and story lines.

HERE IS THE SCHEDULE OF THE GAMES

The Utes won their opener with Michigan 41 - 30 led by a defense that forced 13 turnovers and score 2 TD's of their own.

BYU breezed by Northern Iowa today 68-7. The running game will need to improve for the Cougs to bust the BCS. 35 carries for 71 yards will not get it done.

BYU looked very impressive thumping Washington 42 - 10. Max Hall passed for 502 yards as the passing offense moved with ease. The running game may still be a concern.

Utah was shaken by the news that backup QB #19 for Utah was suspended 3 games for inappropriate benefits received at a local department store. The game did not go much better. Utah dropped the decision to UNLV 37 - 13. Brian Johnson was pulled at the end of the game for freshman DeVonte Christopher. We have a simulated QB controversy.

BYU came out strong early and owned the game from the opening minutes. An easy 47 - 35 victory was the result. Max Hall continues to throw the ball for big numbers (440 yds) but the running game was non existent for the third consecutive week.

The Beehive Boot belongs to... Utah. 79-7 was the final, everything worked for Utah, nothing worked for the Aggies.

The "Quest for Perfection" gets Cowboy Upped. Wyoming beat BYU in LES 35 -21. Max Hall struggled and was benched for Gaskens in the 3rd qtr.

Utah survives a first half scare but eased to a 41-27 win over Air Force. Robert Johnson had a game changing interception return for a TD and the Utes rolled form there.

Thursday's double header began with a win on the scoreboard and a loss on the roster. Utes creuise 56-6 past Weber St but lost their starting QB for up to 7 weeks with an arm injury.

BYU took care of business against Utah State 45 - 23, but the offense did struggle for 3 1/2 quarters in this game.

Utah looked strong early against Oregon State opening up a 24 - 10 lead in the 2nd quarter. It was a struggle form there on out. Oregon State scored 21 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter on their way to a 62 - 38 win over the Utes. QB #19 for the Utes looked strong early but struggled late with 5 int's thrown in the game.

Max Hall was hurt early and that was thwe key ingredient for an upset as New Mexico went on to beat the leaderless Cougs.

Utah was able to win their matchup with Wyoming as Utah wins another game without Brian Johnson.

BYU cruised to a surprisingly easy win in Fort Worth. Max Hall returned for the game and was effective enough in a 31-13 win.

Utah's matchup with Colorado State was an entertaining one as the Rams put up 23 unanswered 3rd qtr ponts to pull ahead by 1, only to have the Utes put up 23 of there own unanswered in the 4th qtr for a 64-42 final.

BYU played their worst game of the year and Ma hall was benched in the second half due to ineffectiveness. Coloradoco State drummed BYU 86-21.

So the simulation has completely disappointed. I am not going to bore you with the details. Austin Collie is second in the nation in receptions and leads the nation in receivig yards.

Remember the BYU and Utah game will be simulated Thursday.

BYU loses 2. Utah loses 2. And Utah beats BYU this year.

This coming from a BYU season ticket holder.

Re: College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
Locke,

Just when you start to get boring, you go out and do something like this, AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF! Thank you for giving us die hard U/Y fans a breath of fresh air in this boring summer downtime.

Predictions: Utes lose a tight one in Michigan, win a thriller @ New Mexico after getting the crap scared out of them, and win the Holy War by 14.

BYU dominates early and often, but a Norm Chow led Bruins team has the Cougs number in ruining their "Quest for Perfection". The Y proceeds to kick the crap out of the rest of their schedule, until the Holy War. Austin Collie drinks a spiked Hot Chocolate from Starbucks that makes the whole BYU team lose it's mojo. Utes win 38-24.

Re: College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
Why is BYU playing UCLA in the Rose Bowl? Get the game setup for at LaVell Edwards Stadium, that is where they are playing UCLA this year.

Re: College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
David! Stop the presses! BYU plays UCLA AT HOME (in LES) this year, not in the Rose Bowl. No Pac-10 officials to bail them out this year!

Go Cougs!

Re: College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
Locke,

BYU plays UCLA at LES, not the Rose Bowl this year.

And your simulation just lost all credibility. 13 turnovers by Michigan against Utah? And Utah loses--at home--to UNLV??? That simulation program is worthless. Absolutely worthless.

Re: College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
This is so bunk! Like Utah could ever lose to UNLV let alone get blown out by them...Oh wait...2007!

Re: College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
Well Locke, we can all dream! I love the whole idea of simulating the season... So far, the Ute's simulation sounds almost likely, but I'm not sure the HUGE blowouts will occur for the Cougs (not that I'd be opposed to it). As a BYU fan, I hate getting all hyped up about the current team and upcomming season only to be let down. I don't want to say I don't have faith in my team, I'm just not sure they're going to blow everyone out of the water. I guess I could say I'm a realist. But like I said to start, we can dream!

"David Locke will simulute the Utes and Cougars 2008 Football Season live on his show with kickoffs at 3:10 pm. Tune in as Locke will include scoring summaries, box stores and story lines."

What "box stores" will Locke be featuring on the show? JCPenny? Wal-Mart? Mervyns? Target?

Re: College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
Locke maybe you need to pay a little more attention to the best and most attended and watched football team in the state. If you did you would know that the game against UCLA is not going to be at the Rose Bowl as you have stated. Since last time I checked that was a home game for BYU and I believe they play in Lavell Edwards Stadium in Provo maybe you could at least get your facts straight about the schedule.

After all if you have been to a game at BYU even in the down years I can remember listening to a post game and we had played some Div II team and the game was televised, and the same day the team up North was having Homecoming and playing a tough Conference Opp. and we had around 55,000 in the stands and the team up North only had 12-15,000 is what was mentioned.

Maybe if you weren't soo busy being a big Homer for that team up north then you could have more than 500 people listening to your radio show.

Re: College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
Wow! Radio Shoe hosts can't make mistakes. Little sentitive there? Locke this is awesome and a great idea. I love the show. While other sports talk show hosts are talking about what to get their wife for her birthday you found a way to make the dog days of talk radio interesting. May the simulation thing be inaccurate? Yes, but it is better to talk simulated Cougars and Utes than to talk about whether or not Michelle Wie should recieve an exemption. And if the game lets UNLV beat Utah again just another laugh like the one I hade last September. I love the show, the stats, and the ideas. Keep it up.

Re: College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
Golfer4life, are you serious, back up your statement, give us some facts not something you may have heard from a friend of a friend, gimme a break attendence smack is so freaking lame, just like coins that your boring coach hands out, band of brother t-shirts, and stealing Utah State's colors. Go UTES! Beat Michigan!

Re: College Football Action Live on Locked on Sports Today!!!
I believe the simulation is from EAS sports, not 1320. It is simply entertainment--albeit poor entertainment at that.
