Report: Patriots owner Kraft might not be in the clear

Patriots owner Robert Kraft might not be out of the woods just yet. We heard a few days ago that a judge had ruled in favor of Kraft’s legal team to suppress video evidence in his case that had allegedly been obtained illegally. It was a major procedural win for Kraft, and indicated he might get out of his situation without being convicted of anything. Nevertheless, the government isn’t going down without a fight. Prosecutors are appealing the judges decision, and are looking to get the video ev...

Winners and losers from the 2019 PGA Championship

The 2019 PGA Championship is complete. As was the case in 2018, Brooks Koepka came out victorious. With his win, Koepka now has four major wins in less than two years. He’s also the No. 1 ranked player in the world. As such, he is clearly the week’s top winner. But he’s not the only man who should be happy with his week. Dustin Johnson did a lot to make Koepka earn his victory down the stretch. Rory McIlroy didn’t play well at times. Still, he managed to post a respectable week. Jordan Spieth, m...

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. comes through with go-ahead home run

Ladies and gentlemen, in case you hadn’t noticed, this Vladimir Guerrero Jr. kid is pretty good at the baseball. On Sunday, Vlad Jr. stepped to the plate in the top of the eighth inning with the game tied up against the Chicago White Sox. And he delivered. Putting the Toronto Blue Jays up 3-1 with a two-run homer, Guerrero once again proved he has the clutch gene. This was Guerrero’s fourth home run in just 10 major league games this year. He also has 10 RBI, which is a pretty darn good per-game...

Braves' Freddie Freeman blasts fourth home run in four days

Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman is seeing the ball well these days. In particular, he’s been hitting the cover off it the past four games. On Sunday, as the Braves took on the Milwaukee Brewers, Freeman took pitcher Brandon Woodruff deep with a laser beam to center field.  It is the fourth game in a row in which Freeman has blasted a home run. This rocket shot tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning — almost as impressive as what Freeman did Saturday night. (@WoodBa...

Nats' Sean Doolittle takes jab at Cubs' Joe Maddon over protest

Nationals closer Sean Doolittle jabbed Joe Maddon after the Cubs manager filed a protest following Saturday’s game. Doolittle pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up the save in Washingtons 5-2 victory over. Maddon came out twice during the ninth inning to complain about a toe tap the closer does during his delivery. Maddon justified his protest, saying his reliever, Carl Edwards Jr., was told during spring training that he couldn’t do a similar toe tap. His argument is that if his guy can’t do it,...

Jim Riggleman is favorite if Mets make managerial change

The New York Mets are in freefall, and though manager Mickey Callaway is still employed, his position is so tenuous that potential replacements are already being mentioned. In the wake of a weekend sweep at the hands of the lowly Miami Marlins, the Mets are now 20-25, six games adrift of the first-place Philadelphia Phillies. In light of that, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported that it is only a matter of time before Callaway is fired, with Jim Riggleman the early favorite to replace him. Rigg...
